RE: Update on Mass schedule and pastoral care in response to COVID-19

Dear Parish Family,

The Prophet Jeremiah spoke for the Lord when he said, “I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jer. 3:15). After the Lord’s heart, it has become abundantly clear that we need to err on the side of caution in the midst of this pandemic. Effective immediately, we will suspend public participation at Mass and suspend in person pastoral care for the next fourteen (14) days.  After that time, we will reassess the situation and provide direction at that time. We will continue to live stream daily Mass online through facebook and other mediums. You will be informed.

COVID-19 is indeed in our community and we must adjust accordingly. We are encouraging everyone to shelter in place and take great caution when getting the things we need to survive.  As your Dean and priest, I am available for phone calls at 219-798-3331 and am willing to pray with you. All meetings will continue as scheduled using the service .

We will continue to celebrate Mass and you may participate via live stream on facebook at contact us with any prayers you would like to add to the prayers during Mass. Please join us and pray with us as we pray against this virus. Pray for Bishop, myself, and all clergy as we seek God’s wisdom.

We will continue to pray against this virus with the source and summit of our prayers, the Eucharist.  Therefore, we will continue to celebrate Mass. We ask you to pray with us. The Mass schedule is at the end of this letter. Please post in a place that is convenient.

If you have any other recommendations, please call me at 219-798-3331. We are taking seriously the guidance from public health officials. Our schedules and practices may change quickly. We will contact you quickly if any new developments arise.

Blessings and Love,
