“Let the children come to me and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven.” –Matthew 19:14

More than any other gift I have given my children, I know the best gift I have ever given them is the gift of an opportunity to believe in Jesus Christ. This does not mean that they have all taken me up on that gift, but what I do know is that if I could give any child anything I would give the best thing in my life as my gift.

What is important is that we give our children the best. Jesus is our best and we should give a relationship to Jesus to every child. In fact, we are not supposed to hinder children coming to Jesus. We should present them to Jesus to lay hands on them.

There is no better opportunity for us to do this than at Vacation Bible School (VBS). Often, it is the first time that children in our neighborhood, our grandchildren, our friends’ children will be exposed to the Gospel. It can be life changing for them.

The message of VBS is the same always: you are loved by God. Oh, sure, there can be Bible themes that run through the five days, but overall, the message that is sent through the preparation, the staging, the lessons, and the love of the people to the children is that God loves them.

So, we need you to help out with VBS. You can do that through several ways. You can invite people to sign their children up for VBS. You can volunteer to teach at VBS or provide help with snacks, games, registration table, and many more things needed for a successful VBS.

Please give your time or your supplies to help us introduce Jesus Christ to children, some for the first time, so that we do not hinder them from coming to Jesus.

Blessings,
